Customer Review: Three Words: Simpler, Shorter and Just as Fun.
I have always love Civilization games. They are interesting, challenging and enjoyable. If you are reading this review, then you maybe wonder how this console compare to the PC version. I have played over 20 games on this version, so I have certainly passed the initial phrase. Civilization Revolution is a more streamlined version and not as deep as the PC version. For example, there is no peasant unit. Roads are no longer built by peasants one square at a time; instead, you simply pay for the cost of the road and it will be constructed instantaneously. It is certainly a much simpler game (I really miss the fact that I can no longer destroy enemy's roads). The upside is that the game is much shorter and therefore you can finish one game in 3 hours, not 3 days or 3 weeks. I really like this. If I am still a college student on summer vacation, then I may not appreciate this "short" feature as much. However, for many of us who has a full time job, this is just great. I cannot tell you how many games I start giving up because I don't have the time to invest in them. This is a simpler game, but not necessary an easier game. I played Civilization III and I was winning 80% of the Emperor level games and losing 90% of the Deity games. In revolution, I am currently winning 80% of the Emperor games and losing all of my Deity games. The graphic and music of this game is just great. However, there are a few things I wish the game has kept. For instance, there are "unique" units, but they are only different in appearance and not as much on stats. This is one feature which I count as a pure "dumb-down" change. Taking the peasant units out has a up side and a down side. It makes the game simpler and faster. Taking unique units out, simply make the game simpler. I only see a down side in this change.
Customer Review: Wonderful game - hope to see more like it in the future
THis game is wonderful. It took a while to get used to some of the controls, but became quite manageable. Overall, the game is wonderful. Maps are a bit smaller than I would have liked, but graphics are decent, and there is nothing else like it on the PS3. I hope to see some future revisions of this game, or other similar strategy games. I have played 6 games thusfar, and with each game, I get to choose different characters or civilization strengths. each game is 1-4 hours long which is something I prefer as I don't want to spend days putting together my armies and cities. Roads, cities, armys all build rather quickly. great game.

Lord of War [UMD for PSP]

The lethal business of arms dealers provides an electrifying context for the black-as-coal humor of Andrew Niccol's Lord of War. Having proven his ingenuity as the writer of The Truman Show, and writer-director of Gattaca and the under-appreciated Simone, Niccol is clearly striving for Strangelovian relevance here as he chronicles the rise and inevitable fall of Yuri Orlov (Nicolas Cage), a Ukrainian immigrant to America who makes his fortune selling every kind of ordnance he can get his amoral hands on. With a trophy wife (Bridget Moynahan) who's initially clueless about his hidden career, and a younger brother (Jared Leto) whose drug-addled sense of decency makes him an ill-chosen accomplice, Yuri traffics in death the way other salesman might push vacuum cleaners (he likes to say that alcohol and tobacco are deadlier products than his), but even he can't deny the sheer ruthlessness of the Liberian dictator (a scene-stealing Eamonn Walker) who purchases Orlov's "products" to expand his oppressive regime. Niccol's themes are even bigger than Yuri's arms deals, and he drives them home with a blunt-force lack of subtlety, but Cage gives the film the kind of insanely dark humor it needs to have. To understand this monster named Yuri, we have to see at least a glimpse of his humanity, which Cage provides as only he can. Otherwise, this epic tale of gunrunnng would be as morally unbearable as the black market trade it illuminates. --Jeff Shannon

Customer Review: Loved the movie so much I paid full price on Amazon
Loved the movie so much I paid full price on Amazon. I love this movie for it's realistic and believable look at the irony of weapons dealing. It also points out the hypocrisy of certain democratic African countries. Also showed the hypocrisy of the USA that looks down on those countries. Also shows us there good people can do evil things when they have to.
Customer Review: Great Movie!
A interesting ficticious insight into a serious topic, the spread of weapons. Humerous and great character portrayal by Nicolas Cage.

PSP is a handheld game console released and currently manufactured by Sony Computer Entertainment. Its development was first announced during E3 2003, and it was officially unveiled on May 11, 2004 at a Sony press conference before E3 2004. The system was released in Japan on December 12, 2004, the United States and Canada on March 24, 2005 and in Europe and Australia on September 1, 2005. It is considered the first handheld video game system to use an optical disc format (Universal Media Disc).

The Playstation Portable is also able to playback movies on a UMD Universal Media Disk format. PlayStation Portable's audio player supports a number of audio codes, including ATRAC, AAC, MP3, and WMA, and has the option to be played with or without a set of five visualizations. The image viewer will display several common image formats including JPEG, Bitmap, and PNG. However, image viewing is limited by the file size and resolution of the image and any image exceeding a file size or resolution cannot be displayed. This is usually the case with attempting to show DSLR images on a PlayStation Portable.

MPEG-4 and AVC video formats are also compatible with PlayStation Portable. With reasonable video and audio bit-rate settings (a resolution of 320240, a video bit rate of 500 Kb per second, and an audio sampling rate of 22050 Hz) a 22-minute video file is roughly 55 MB, enough to fit on a Memory Stick Duo as small as a 64 MB. At the same rate, a hundred-minute feature film can fit on a 256 MB Memory Stick. As of firmware update version 3.30, H.264/MPEG-4 AVC Main Profile video files of the following sizes can be played: 720480, 352480, and 480272. Many video files, both free-to-distribute and copyrighted, have been encoded for the PlayStation Portable and are available on the Internet. Game and movie trailers are increasingly available, even from studios' official websites.

With these superior features, you can even store your favorite DVD's and music in your PSP. And if you're the customizing type, you can also change the thumbnails of these movie files. Here's a quick guide on how to get your own custom thumbnails for media files on your PSP using Photoshop:

Step 1

Create your thumbnail using Photoshop. Try to create at Width: 160px x Height: 120px, Resolution: 72 pixel/inch, since this is the size we will the saving the jpg as.

Step 2

Once you're done with your image, in Photoshop, go to File > Save for Web
Then in the Save For Web box, change the settings in red and then click Save.

Step 3

Finally, we will need to rename the .jpg file we just created to be the same file name as the movie but with the .THM extension.

Lastly, transfer the files to your psp and make sure that the media file and the .THM file goes together.

Since its launch several years ago, the PSP device has become one of the most popular portable devices. Thousands of PSP owners are using their Sony PlayStation Portable to watch movies, play games, listen to music and download all sorts of stuff such as photos and wallpaper. One of the most popular PSP downloads are mp4 movies and videos. Instead of worrying about converting your video files to MPEG-4 format that can be played by the PSP, you simply search for PSP mp4 downloads online. There are many different websites that are now offering mp4 movie and video downloads for PSP devices. You just have to know where to find these websites.

The best place to start when looking for PSP mp4 downloads is the major search engines such as Google, MSN and Yahoo. You can also try Ask.com. If you're interested in a particular title you can do a specific search such as "Star Wars PSP mp4 downloads". You can also do general searches just in case the provider hosts pages that are not indexed by the search engines. It's a good idea to do searches on all the main search engines so that you can increase the chances of finding the files that you're looking for. If the PSP mp4 downloads you're looking for are only available on a members only website, then you may not find these files by doing a search on the search engines.

Another place where you can find out where to download mp4 movies for PSP is from forums, newsgroups and other download sites. People are always sharing this type of information so if you look hard enough you'll find someone talking about a website which they like. If the discussion forum you're visiting has a search function, use it to locate relevant discussions about PSP mp4 downloads. You'll most likely find links to some PSP download sites that offer mp4 downloads. Many PSP websites offer a variety of downloads to their members including movies, music, and software and games so you don't have to look specifically for a site that offers only PSP mp4 downloads.

Another good place to find PSP mp4 downloads is from articles posted online. Many discussions about PSP downloads also mention specific download sites that you may want to visit.

There are many types of PSP download websites. Some offer free clips and short films while others offer full length mp4 movies. Some of the ones that offer full length movies use file sharing software to distribute the files to different users since they often have thousands of users. Many of these sites are membership based so you would have to join as a member first before you can be allowed to get free access to free PSP mp4 downloads. Some websites don't offer memberships but will sale you specific mp4 movies that you're interested in.

Sony's PSP or Playstation portable is a fantastic piece of technology-as well as being a top flight games machine it can view all kinds of media and also be used for web applications etc. In short it's a great piece of hardware-however the one thing that puts many people off is the price of the games. Wouldn't that be different if you knew how to download free PSP games and movies?

Its long been known that the internet is a place where you can download free games and movies for many systems, but few people know that with a PSP you have a few different options on how and where to do it-the best thing is that they are all 100% legal!

There are hundreds, if not thousand of different places where you can download free PSP games and movies, but they mostly fall into the three following categories:

1- A totally free of charge service-There are sites that let you download games and stuff totally free of charge, but I personally wouldnt recommend them. Firstly, I always question the legality of stuff like this, and secondly, their games are always out of date and often download in an unworkable format, and thirdly in most cases you are going to get hit by a barrage of ads/popups etc, not to mention any viruses/spyware they may introduce to your computer. If these guys are willing to break the law and give away free
games, who says they are not going to hack your computer? I stay away from this stuff.

2- A free membership site that once you are signed up to you can then download as many games etc as you want from. Technically its free because the membership is free, but then the minute you try and download something theyll ask you for a fee. Not too cool really. I also stay away from these because A, I dont like surprise fees, and B, again Im unsure how legal this can be, although they do claim to be legal.

3- These types of sites are the ones I can heartily recommend. I found a few reliable ones and I havent looked back. I honestly havent paid for a PSP game or movie in over a year, and I have some great titles! Sites like these charge a small one off fee, and then you have access to hundreds and thousands of different games and movies, all at high download speeds with no extra cost. This really is the best way to download free PSP games and movies because the one off fee is usually about the same cost of a new game, so basically for the cost of your next full price game you could be playing every PSP game ever released-if you have that much time on your hands that is! The actual downloads themselves can be tricky, but if you stick with reputable websites they will often give you the necessary software as part of the package.

So there you have it, those are your options if you are looking to download free PSP games and movies. Personally I would recommend option 3, as some of these companies are excellent and you wont believe the sheer choice of different games and movies available to you. Happy hunting!

Customer Review: a great fun game to play, but has some tech glitches
This is a great game - and it's my first psp experience and i've been enjoying it very much so. I'm a hard core pc gamer - so i would never waste my time with this game on the pc - so it's perfect for console. I've noticed that psp is more M rated for smarter older folks like myself, where as the gameboy is more E rated and family oriented. That said - the gore is pretty good - blood effects are ok - and it's very intense when the battles are raging. It's a great game for the psp - great to play while waiting for the train or sitting on the portch. Ok - now the OPPS part. Saving the game is huge pain in the a-- . I've had to replay several chapters just to get back to where I was after I turned off my machine. What it likes to do is reload a checkpoint in a chapter. There's an average of 5-10 check points in a chapter. So if I've made it to the last check point and I've got to end the game I'm SOL when I come back to it. this is very frustrating. Also - I like gore - I like to see blood and guts - especially if it's coming from a freakin' Nazi! So much to my dismay, once the Nazis have been shot, they disappear - only to leave their weapons behind. I really don't like that - especially when the American bodies don't disappear! Uncool! I look forward to when game development can leave the bloodied mangled enemy bodies behind. Another glitch worth mentioning - during intense hand to hand fighting situations it does slow down. The controls are a little wacko too - but that could be a pc gamer thing - I'm still not entirely used to the console thing yet. Also - the sounds are pretty realistic - but the word play between characters gets redundant and irritating at times. Overall this is a very entertaining game - and it does require some skill and thought as you are commanding a squad and much of the success of the game comes with commanding the squad properly. I think the graphics in the game are quite good considering what it is - a PSP - this isn't a pc desktop with 512 or vram! So overall I'm very impressed despite the glitches mentioned above. I would recommend this game to others...
Customer Review: A good game for the PSP!
This is an awesome game!!!!! The graphics are good but a little choppy...... it slows down during game play. The controls are fairly easy. Squad commands are too. I did beat the game without using the situation thing...... don't know what thats for........ I live in China and they sell a bunch of PSP, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, Gameboy, Nintendo DS, Wii and a bunch of other games here for free!!!!!!!!! I don't support them though...... Never support people selling fake stuff! It's wrong....and i wish it was stoped. So I buy every thing of Amazon..... so their support is fantastic.......Anyway.......back to the game. The game is one of the best FPS that is very realistic (except you can get shoot a bunch of times and not die). I like that you have to think about stuff in some levels to beat it. Overall this game is the "Cats PJ's". If you like Strategy based FPS..... This games for you...

When you look around the place most kids own a portable gaming device like the Sony PSP (Playstation Portable). Since its introduction the PSP has totally revolutionized the gaming industry with amazing game play and breathtaking graphics that you thought would only be found on the bigger console machines like the Xbox or PS2.

Due to the relatively small size of the games most are prone to damage either through scratching or dirt entering inside the protective cover that comes with every PSP game. That's why its important to backup your PSP games to preserve your originals and save money replacing them. There are lots of free tools and tech sites on the internet that can show you how to copy psp games but if your not familiar with the geek talk backing up PSP games can be a tedious and sometimes frustrating procedure.

Fortunately there are easy to use software tools and guides available out there that make this possible! All you need is a PSP SD memory card (2 gig preferred), a PC and your own PSP handheld device. The software programs come with guides that show you how to dump PSP games on onto your computer then transfer them onto your PSP memory stick. Depending on the size of the memory stick you can run multiple games of one stick and not have to use the disc at all.

You can have all your PSP game collection running off your PSP memory stick instead of the discs. This has several advantages but mostly games will run a lot faster (off the memory card) and your originals will not get damaged and you can safely store them away.

You can find lots of videos on youtube or forums dedicated to PSP gaming that can show you how to transfer games to PSP memory card - all you have to do is Google search them and you'll get the information you need.

USB to PlayStation Portable (PSP) Power + Data Sync Cable, 3 ft

USB to PlayStation Portable (PSP) Power + Data Sync Cable, 3 ft

Aside from listening to music most mobile phone users are also avid gamers. Gamers range from CPU, Laptops, PSP, and Gameboy to mobile phones. Graphically, your first choice for gaming would be a PlayStation Portable or a GameBoy or stuff like that. Last, of course, would be playing on your phone. If you don't have much of a choice, you stick with your phone and painstakingly play away and absorb the poor graphics.

Playing games on the mobile phone is not quite entertaining compared to PSP's or Gameboy's since you can't get visual quality no matter how cool the game is. So those game addicts prefer to lug around a PSP or a GameBoy since it is more visually entertaining. So you would need to wear pants with extra or big pockets for it or bring a bag with you or just hang it around your neck. Of course you would look like you're showing off but for all they know it you are already agonizingly putting up with the stiff neck.

But a 3D feature on your mobile phone displaces everything about gaming. Plus you get to answer your phone whenever somebody calls in the middle of a game. Unlike portable game gadgets, you sometimes miss a call on your mobile phone just because you have game earphones on or you did not hear it or forgot to have it vibrate when you get a call. Just make sure the game your downloading is 3D compatible. You surely will need an extra battery for that or bring a charger with you. Just in case you run out of juice during traveling.

3D gaming on your Sony Ericsson C905 mobile phone... now that's entertainment!

The PSP system is the first handheld system made by Sony. For a long time now the Nintendo Company has dominated the market for hand held systems. The Game Boy and now the new Nintendo DS have been the top hand held systems in the market. That was until the Sony PSP system came along.

The first thing I noticed about the PSP system is that it looks nothing like the other portable gaming systems out there. The screen on the PSP is much larger then on any other popular portable gaming system. It has a very sleek design, and I do believe it fits in your hands the way you would want a portable system to feel, like a game controller. It is a bit heavier than the other game systems, it feels much sturdier.

The controls on the PSP will feel a lot like a Playstation 2 controller. One of the major differences in the PSP control is the new "analog nub" which was used instead of the joysticks on the Playstation controller. This "nub" is a little weird at first because it has more of a sliding motion as opposed to the tilting motion you get with the Playstation controllers, but once you have used it for a little while it becomes like second nature. The "action" buttons on the PSP system are located where they would be in the Playstation controller. These buttons are very responsive and very well placed. There are only one L and R button; these are placed on the top of the system, in a similar place as the Playstation controller. I personally have a little bit of a hard time with these buttons as they for some reason just don't feel right, but you do get used to them. Then there are the start and select buttons which I don't really like at all, (it's a good thing you don't really have to use those buttons too much). These buttons are very small and located toward the bottom of the PSP system by a bunch of other buttons that feel the exact same way. The other buttons are the home button, which will take you out of your game or movie and back to the main screen, there is a brightness button which allows you to control the brightness of your screen, there are the volume buttons, and a mute button. Like I said before all these buttons are the same size and shape, which is something that I don't really like because sometimes you accidentally push the wrong button and it totally throws you off. The next button is the power/hold button. I really like the way this button works. It is located on the right side of the system. This button has 4 purposes, purpose number 1 is to turn on the system, you do this by pushing it up, purpose number 2 is to put the system on hold which makes all of the system buttons non operational, you do this by pushing it down, purpose number 3 is to put the system into sleep mode, you do this by pushing the button up for just a second, the last purpose for this button is to turn the system off, you do this by pushing the button up and holding it for about 3 seconds until you see the system power off. On the left side of the PSP system you will find a button that feels similar to the power button, this is the wi-fi switch. It turns wi-fi on and off, up is on, down is off. On the top of the system is a switch that slides from left to right. This switch opens the UMD slot which is where you put your game or movie. The top of the system also has the mini-USB port for connecting to a computer.

Playing the PSP system is like a totally new experience. You start by turning on your system. If you don't have anything in the disc slot it will bring you to the home screen. From the home screen you can control almost everything that has to do with your PSP System. You can play a game or watch a movie one of two ways. You can either put the disc in before or you can put it in after you turn on the system. If you put the disc in before you turn on the system then the game will start to load automatically without going to the home screen first. If you don't put the disc in first then you have to find the UMD icon and select it, then the game will start loading. When you put a game in it will take about 20-30 seconds to load to that games title screen. Then the load times for the game are significantly shorter in the 3-5 second range. While you are playing a game you can press the home button at any time and it will bring you back to the main screen, but first it will ask you if you are sure you want to quit your game. I like this because sometimes you accidentally hit the home button when you are going for the volume buttons. I would just like to briefly mention the screen. It is a 16:9 widescreen LCD and it is amazing. More then I thought was capable on such a small system. I am telling you that you will be totally shocked and amazed when you see the quality of picture this little machine creates.

Anyone who already owns the PSP system knows the reasons why this system is so great. If you don't already own one I urge you to get down to the store and grab one right now. This is the best system I have come in contact with in a really long time. For more on the PSP visit my blog at http://psp-game-reviews.blogspot.com
